"Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so you shall become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil."
- James Allen
Percy Jackson, The Son of the Sea God
Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived
These two heroes of prophecy had to undergo many trials and tribulation throughout their many adventures, even having to almost die in order to fulfill the prophecies they were a part of. But today one of them will have to die permanently as I'm here to go over whether I'd think The Son of The Sea God or The Boy Who Lived would win a DEATH BATTLE!
Before We Begin
Both of the analyses for Percy and Harry will be based on their book versions and not the movies/tv series. For Percy the books that I will be using are the original 5 books from Percy Jackson and The Olympians, the short stories from The Demigod Files, The Demigod Diaries, and Demigods and Magicians, the 4 books he appears in The Heroes of Olympus series, and the 2 books he appears in the Trials of Apollo series. For Harry I will be using the original 7 books from the Harry Potter series. I will also be excluding The Senior Year Adventures for Percy as that series is not finished yet, and The Cursed Child for Harry since that story sucks and I refuse to accept it as canon. Although sometimes I will link and show scenes from the Percy Jackson show as it is mostly book accurate, and sometimes gifs or images from the movies as Percy Jackson doesn't have a lot of visual media.
Background
Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson didn't want to be a half-blood, unfortunately for him life didn't care. Percy was born as the result of an affair between the Greek god of the Seas, Poseidon and a normal mortal woman from New York named Sally Jackson. But little Percy never got to know or meet his father for the first 12 years of his life as Poseidon left when Percy was an infant which is customary of the gods. Because of this Sally was forced to marry a horrible man named Gabe Ugliano. Gabe would verbally abuse Percy and behind the scenes he would even physically abuse Sally. Sally only married him because he smelled horrible in order to protect Percy as Gabe's horrible odor masked the smell Percy would give off to monsters for being a demigod and as he was the son of one of what is called The Big Three Gods being Zeus, Poseidon and Hades; the smell he'd give off would be even stronger.
Percy would also struggle personally and in schools as a results of having both dyslexia and ADHD. This life would be the norm for Percy until one day at a field trip to a museum. During this field trip Percy's pre-algebra teacher would transform into a Fury, one of Hades' 3 torturers in the underworld as she tried to kill Percy for allegedly stealing Zeus' master lightning bolt, Percy's Latin teacher threw Percy a pen that transformed into a sword in order to have Percy defend himself. This works as Percy successfully kills her with one slash from the sword. After this the sword goes back to its pen form and Percy gives it back to his Latin teacher who tries to convince Percy that the events that just transpired had never actually happened, making Percy incredibly confused and angry. This anger only got worse as he would then learn that because of his attitude and grade issues he would be expelled from his current school, although his mom would cheer him up by telling him that they would be going on their yearly vacation.
However, it was during this trip that everything went horribly wrong. First a massive storm come blowing by and almost destroyed the shack Percy and Sally were staying at, then Percy's best friend tracks them down and reveals himself to be a satyr a half-human half-goat and tells them that they need to leave immediately. Sally then takes Percy and Grover in her car and drives to a place she says will be safe for someone like Percy but as Sally was finally going to tell the full truth about Percy's father, they run into the Minotaur who flips over the car and grabs Sally and squeezes his fist and seemingly kills Sally. This causes an enraged Percy with his power being boosted by the rain unknowingly to fight the minotaur and with this strength boost he jumps on the minotaur's back and rips off one of his horns and stabs the minotaur with his own horn, killing him. After this the adrenaline coursing through Percy to fade away and Percy passes out.
After waking up Percy comes to find out he is in a new place intended to be a safe haven for people like him called Camp Half-Blood. Percy learns that he is a demigod and makes two new friends named Luke Castellan son of Hermes and Annabeth Chase daughter of Athena, and a new frenemy Clarisse LaRue daughter of Ares. And after a couple weeks there the camp becomes essentially a second home to Percy. Soon after he finally learns the truth of who his father is, the God of the Seas, Poseidon. Once Percy learned this he is given a quest to go and find Zeus's missing master bolt before the summer solstice or else his father and Zeus would end up going to war with each other. Before he goes on this quest his Latin teacher who turned out to be the centaur Chiron gave him the pen sword back and told Percy its name "Anaklusmos" Greek for Riptide. Chiron then had Grover and Annabeth accompany Percy, he is successful in his quest and even learns that his mother is alive and manages to save her and even freed her from Gabe by sending her Medusa's head so she could turn him into a stone statue. The next year he would befriend a classmate named Tyson who he later found out was a Cyclops and also his brother on his fathers side. A few years after these events Percy even meets and befriends two more demigod children of the Big 3, Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus and Nico di Angelo, son of Hades, and learns of a great prophecy that says that one of them will make an important decision the day the turn 16 which will either destroy or preserve the world.
Before Percy's freshman year at high school he, Annabeth, Grover and Tyson go on a quest to explore The Labyrinth in order to protect Camp Half-Blood from Luke, who turned traitor and wants to destroy Olympus by reviving the Titan Lord Kronos. After exploring The Labyrinth the campers successfully manage to defend their home. In the next couple of weeks after that Percy, Annabeth and their friends Charles Beckendorf, son of Hephaestus and Silena Beauragard, daughter of Aphrodite who during a game of capture the flag, would end up encountering a bronze dragon and had to figure out a way to stop it from rampaging throughout the camp. Percy and Beckendorf are able to stop it but lose the game in the process as it's revealed that Annabeth had planned for Percy and Beckendorf to get distracted by the dragon for long enough for Silena to steal their flag. After this Beckendorf tells Percy to try and ask Annabeth to the camps summer fireworks show as he finally managed to muster up the courage to ask Silena out and the two had started dating. Percy takes him up on this advice and he and Annabeth go to the fireworks show together. After this and during his freshman year he spots Clarisse outside his class and goes off to help her with her quest to receive Ares's stolen chariot. And during the winter of that same year he reunites with Nico and Thalia on a mission to retrieve a sword that Persephone made for Hades that was being stolen by the Titans. The children of the Big Three were able to retrieve the weapon and even defeat a Titan who after he forgets everything Percy renames Bob.
After Percy's freshman year the culmination of all his past adventures would begin as Kronos returns inhabiting Luke's body and begins to start the War on Olympus. Before the war officially gets started Percy and Beckendorf try and infiltrate the cruise ship that boards all of the affiliates of Kronos to destroy it but they get caught. However Beckendorf managed to rigg the ship with explosives and sets them off successfully destroying the ship but sacrificing himself in the process. Percy manages to survive this because as the son of Poseidon the water heals him. After waking up in the water Percy swims to Camp Half-Blood to let the campers know of Beckendorf's death. After this, Annabeth and Chiron finally tell Percy that it's time for him to know the Great Prophecy. After reading it, Percy prepares the campers for war and finally accepts his role as the camp leader. At the end of the war Percy manages to defeat Kronos and fulfills the Great Prophecy and saves Olympus. Once the war ended he goes back to camp with his friends and celebrates his 16th birthday and even gets together with Annabeth.
A couple months after the war ended, Percy goes missing from Camp Half-Blood and in his place the goddess Hera sent the Roman demigod Jason Grace, son of Jupiter and also Thalia's brother, there as she had basically traded places with Percy and Jason in order to try and get the Greek and Roman demigods to team up in order to stop the upcoming threat. Because of this, Percy wakes up in California with no memories other than Annabeth and is determined to get answers and ends up traveling to the Roman demigod camp, Camp Jupiter. At this camp Percy learns of a new great Prophecy, what the Romans call The Prophecy of Seven and made a couple new friends though to him they seemed like his only friends, Frank Zhang, Son of Mars and Hazel Levesque daughter of Pluto and technically Nico's sister as they share the same godly parent even if they are different aspects. Percy even learns that the Romans have basically remade Rome into New Rome where he sees demigods living on further into adulthood, something he's rarely ever seen and even learns of a college he could attend there called New Rome University. Later on, the god Mars decides to go to Camp Jupiter as he needs demigods to go on a quest to receive the legions eagle and free Thanatos the god of death so the monsters they fight can actually die made those demigods be his son Frank, Percy and Hazel. The trio are successful in this quest and Percy's memory even comes back and he leads Camp Jupiter to victory in a war against the giants and is selected as the new praetor for Camp Jupiter. Percy then tells the Romans of the existence of the Greek camp. After this he reunites with Annabeth and meets the last two demigods of the prophecy Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus and Piper McLean daughter of Aphrodite. Once the seven of them set off on their adventure the manage to fulfill the prophecy and save the world. After the world is saved Percy and Annabeth have a couple encounters with sibling magicians who draw their power from the Egyptian gods Carter and Sadie Kane, and help them out with their problems and once the world is saved once and for all Percy and Annabeth go back to California to attend New Rome University.
Harry Potter
Harry Potter should be dead. When the Dark Lord Voldemort attacked and killed the Potters the infant Harry should've also fallen victim to the Dark's Lords killing curse. But due to his mother Lily's love for her son being so strong the curse rebounded to Voldemort rendering him helpless and only leaving Harry with a scar shaped like a lightning bolt on his forehead and he became famous in the Wizarding World, being dubbed "The Boy Who Lived." However, for the next 10 years of his life Harry would grow up not knowing any of this, sadly he was forced to live with the Dursleys as because his Aunt Petunia Dursley was the sister of Lily Potter the blood she shared with her sister would protect Harry from enemies that would want to harm him. However, this life sucked for Harry as his Uncle and Aunt were very verbally abusive to Harry and even made him sleep in a tiny cupboard under their houses stairs, and their son Dudley Dursley would even physically bully Harry.
Harry would be forced to live this horrible life until on his 11th birthday a half-giant named Hagrid would come visit the Dursleys in order to tell Harry that he is a wizard. He would also tell Harry that he has been accepted to the best wizarding school in Britain, that being Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hagrid would then take Harry shopping for his school supplies and Harry even gets a pet snow owl he names Hedwig and his wand. After this Hagrid would take Harry back to the Dursleys in order to wait for the school year at Hogwarts to begin. Once the day the year begins arrives the Dursleys drop Harry off at King's Cross station and he goes through platform 9 & 3/4's where he meets Ron Weasley, who would become his best friend and two of his older brothers who happened to be twins Fred and George Weasley. After the train ride to Hogwarts Harry and Ron undergo The Sorting Ceremony where 1st year students are sorted into one of 4 houses being Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Both Harry and Ron were sorted into Gryffindor and started spending a lot of their time together.
The two would eventually meet and befriend a fellow Gryffindor girl, Hermione Granger. The trio of them would become basically inseparable throughout their time at Hogwarts as if you saw one of them the other two would definitely be close by. He would also meet the headmaster of Hogwarts Albus Dumbledore who became like a mentor and father figure to Harry. During his 2nd year he meets Ron's younger sister Ginny Weasley. And Harry and Ron's friendship would undergo a major test during their 4th year as an event known as the Tri-Wizard Tournament was being hosted at Hogwarts where 3 students from 3 different schools age 17 and above would be selected to represent their schools however, Harry somehow ended up being selected. Ron had thought Harry had done this on purpose but Harry insisted otherwise causing a major rift in their friendship for a couple months but they did make up eventually. Harry even managed to win the Tri-Wizard Tournament although, it came at a cost as Voldemort was able to regain his body but Harry does manage to escape from him.
A year after these events Harry discovers a prophecy between him and Voldemort learning that one of them has to kill the other as they can't live while the other survives. Another year after this Harry is dubbed "The Chosen One" by the Ministry of Magic as they also discover the prophecy and want to use Harry to try and create a sense of peace within its citizens. However Harry refused this moniker and insisted on being loyal to Dumbledore, even calling himself Dumbledore's man through and through. And during his 6th year a bunch of girls seemed to have newfound interest in Harry due to his new moniker but he only had eyes for Ginny and even ended up dating her during this year. Throughout this year Dumbledore would show Harry memories of Voldemort's life in order to understand him so that he may finally understand how to defeat him, and they learn of Voldemort creating Horcruxes, devices made by splitting a persons soul into an object so they can be immortal and learn that he made seven of them. So, Dumbledore gave Harry a mission to find and destroy the Horcruxes so Voldemort would turn mortal again in order to finally do him in. Sadly Dumbledore didn't get to live to see this as he was killed by Voldemort's followers. Harry. Ron, Hermione and Ginny then all attended Dumbledore's funeral where they mourned his death and Harry is filled with determination to stop Voldemort once and for all.
The next year the trio decides to forgo their final year at Hogwarts in order to search for and destroy the Horcruxes in order to stop Voldemort once and for all. During this journey Harry, Ron and Hermione end up traversing through the magical world and learn that in order to destroy the Horcruxes they would need to use basilisk venom or something equally as potent. They succeed, however, Harry learns that he himself had become a Horcrux when Voldemort had tried to kill him as an infant so Harry learns that he has to sacrifice himself. Once Harry surrenders himself to Voldemort, Voldemort attacks him with the Killing Curse and Harry manages to survive the killing curse a second time as it had only killed the Horcrux inside of Harry and the love Lily Potter had for her son protected him a second time. Although Harry did pretend to be dead until his friend and another fellow Gryffindor killed Voldemort's final Horcrux, his snake Nagini and Harry revealed himself to be alive and dealt the final blow to Voldemort finally ending his reign for good. After the Second Wizarding War concluded Harry and Ron decide to completely forgo their last year at Hogwarts and begin to work as Aurors, which are dark wizard catchers. And Hermione decides to go back to Hogwarts to finish all 7 years. After she graduates her and Ron get married, with Harry being Ron's best man and Harry even marries Ginny, with Ron being Harry's best man and the two become brothers through marriage. 19 years later the 4 of them gather at King's Cross Station to send their own kids to Hogwarts.
Experience & Skill
Percy Jackson
Percy is one of the most skilled demigods to ever live. While he doesn't have that much training being really only 5 summers worth of it as Camp Half-Blood mainly operates as a summer camp his raw strength and skill are able to make up for it. This presents itself as Percy was trained by and was able to contend in a swordfight with Luke Castellan who was previously stated by another camper to be the most skilled swordfighter that Camp Half-Blood had seen in 300 years. This skill even translates to being able to fight and put Carter Kane on the backfoot and Carter even admits that Percy's skill with a sword far outclassed his, and Carter had been training with his sword for almost 3 full years. And even more impressive, during a fight with Jason while both of them were possessed, he matches Jason blow for blow in a sword fight. This is particularly impressive given the huge disparity in how long each of them had been training as Jason had been training at Camp Jupiter for 12 years compared to Percy's 5 summers
Harry Potter
Harry Potter is one of the most skilled and experienced wizards to ever live. This shows itself in the fact that after a couple months of training with his Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for his third year, Remus Lupin, he manages to fully produce a Patronus Charm, something that even that most capable adult wizards struggle with. This skill with DADA eventually translated to Harry being able to teach certain students proper DADA in secret during his 5th year, and his skills with this subject even lead to him being one of if not the top Auror for the 19 years following his departure from Hogwarts.
Arsenal & Equipment
Percy Jackson
Riptide
Percy's weapon of choice is his sword Riptide, which normally takes the form of a ballpoint pen until the cap comes off and the pen transforms into a 3 foot tall double-edged sword made of Celestial Bronze. He can even put the cap on the bottom of the sword to turn it back into a pen and can write with it. Although as a weapon made of magical material the sword cannot harm mortals but can harm monsters and even kill most of them with 1 slash. Riptide can even harm magicians as shown in his fight with magician Carter Kane. The sword is also enchanted to return to Percy's pocket in pen form should he ever get disarmed or lose it.
Wristwatch Shield
This shield is a gift from Percy's Cyclops brother Tyson. Normally it takes the form of a wristwatch on his left wrist, but with a click of the buttons on the side it turns into a full shield made of Celestial Bronze. It can defend Percy from basically any thing thrown his way including the explosive Greek Fire and venom from a manticore.
Blackjack
This winged horse is a jet black Pegasus that is undyingly loyal to Percy, who treats him like a friend. This relationship is very important to Blackjack so whenever Percy asks for his help he appears to help out his "boss". Percy can even communicate with him telepathically as a power that he gained from his father as Poseidon created horses out of seafoam and is even the father to THE Pegasus, the first winged horse. As a Pegasus Blackjack is capable of flying Percy wherever he needs to go although flying for a long time will tire him out. Blackjack's speed is even capable of keeping up with Jason's Grace's steed Tempest, a horse made out of the spirit of a storm and can even create mini lightning storms
Annabeth's Yankees Cap
Annabeth was gifted this magic cap as a gift from her mother Athena. This cap makes the wearer of it invisible so long as it stays on their head. Although this item isn't Percy's he has used it on many occasions, and Annabeth has even lent it to him in order for Percy to use it to spy on enemies and friends alike.
Mrs. O'Leary
Mrs. O'Leary is Percy's pet hellhound. He received her from Daedulas, the creator of the labyrinth. Mrs. O'Leary is stated to be the size of a tank but she is very friendly and thought be be one of if not the only friendly hellhound in existence. As a being from the Underworld she is capable of Shadow Travel, a method of teleportation that uses on shadow to transport to another one.
Harry Potter
Wand
Harry's main weapon is his wand like many witches and wizards. Harry's wand is 11 inches long, made of holly wood and the core was a feather donated from Fawkes, Dumbledore's pet phoenix. It having a core made from Fawkes' feather made it the brother of Voldemort's wand as they share the same exact core type.
Elder Wand
This wand is the most powerful wand in the Wizarding World, stated to be capable of magic that no other wand can use and that whoever is the master of it is also the master of Death. It chooses its master based on who was able to defeat its previous master. Harry became the master of this wand after a skirmish with Draco Malfoy and Harry uses this wand to finally kill Voldemort.
Firebolt Broom
This broom was given to Harry as a gift from his godfather Sirius Black as a replacement for his old broom the Nimbus 2000 being destroyed. At the time of is manufacturing in 1993 it was the fastest broom in the entire Wizarding World, being able to go from 0 to at least 150 MPH in 10 seconds. Harry mainly used this broom for his Quidditch matches but he is also capable of summoning it to him in order to ride it to get to locations quickly.
Cloak of Invisibility
This magical item was a gift that was given to Harry by Dumbledore but was actually a Potter family heirloom that his father James would have given him had he lived. This Cloak is actually one of the Deathly Hallows and as such is stronger than all other Invisibility Cloaks as it has none of the limitations they do as it's power doesn't fade with age. This cloak does what it says, it makes the wearer completely invisible so long as it covers the wearers entire body.
Abilities
Percy Jackson
Hydrokinesis
As the Son of Poseidon, Percy's main power is being able to control water, or really anything liquid based as every liquid has some trace amounts of water in them as evidenced by the fact that Percy was able to control poison twice before. Percy can even harden the water into a solidified state to do pretty much whatever he wants, like walking on water. In The Son Of Neptune he solidifies the Little Tiber River into two fists that match the movements of his own fist. Another result of Percy's water manipulation is that if he comes into contact with water, it will heal any injuries that he has. Also while in contact with water he gets a speed and power boost, and this boost is even stronger should the water be saltwater. He can also breathe underwater indefinitely and can create air bubbles for people who can't breathe underwater. And his power with water is so strong that he has created miniature hurricanes on a couple of occasions. Although this power does drain him over time. His connection with the sea and water is so strong that he's even capable of summoning it when they're is no water present.
Superhuman Strength
As a demigod and more specifically a demigod child of one of The Big Three, Percy has exceptional strength. This has been shown on numerous occasions, such as being able to lift the sky as shown above and causing Mt. Saint Helens to erupt for a second time and that eruption was so strong that it caused half a million citizens to evacuate and ash to fall as far away as Lake Tahoe and Vancouver.
Superhuman Durability
As a demigod child of the Big Three Percy also has superhuman durability. This is also shown on numerous occasions, but the most notable of which is being able to survive in the epicenter of the volcanic eruption that he created that I just went over for Percy's Superhuman Strength and being able to survive the crashlanding in the secluded island of Ogygia. He was also able to survive a fall from the St. Louis Arch into a nearby river.
Superhuman Reflexes & Agility
As is common in demigods Percy has ADHD. However in the world that Percy lives in this isn't a drawback as the hyperactivity is actually Percy's latent battle senses and reflexes meant to keep him alive on the battlefield. This shown most blatantly in his fight with Ares. Percy can boost these reflexes and agility by coming into contact with water.
Possible Magic Resistance
As a Greek demigod, Percy seems like he is resistant to magic spells by some degree. As during his fight with Carter Kane in Demigods and Magicians, Carter's magic spell doesn't work on Percy and the spell is described to not quite know what to do with him. So more than likely Percy is resistant to magic. Although you can argue that he could just be resistant to all forms of magic that are tied to the divine instead of just general magic. Although you could also argue that magic tied to the divine is stronger than general magic so Percy could resist all magic outright.
Harry Potter
Magic
As a wizard, Harry's main ability is to use magic. He can use magic for a myriad of things like attacking his enemies, defending himself, and even summoning objects to him or sending objects away from him. For the sake of keeping my sanity even though Harry uses a bunch of magic spells throughout the 7 books, I'm only going to list the ones I think would matter in a fight. Although one weakness that magic has is that it can be blocked by metal objects.
Expelliarmus
Expelliarmus is the disarming Charm. If it hits this charm causes whatever Harry's opponent is holding to fly out of their hand and is mainly used to disarm the dark wizards Harry fought. Harry used this spell so much and with such efficiency that it was regarded as his signature spell.
Stupefy
Stupefy is the Stunning Charm. This Charm when it hits causes an opponent to go unconscious without doing lasting damage to his target.
Accio
Accio is the Summoning Charm, it summons whatever the caster says after the word "Accio." Harry can use this to summon his Firebolt broom during a fight as he does so in his fight with a dragon during the Tri-Wizard Tournament.
Protego
Protego is the Shield Charm, this spells summons an invisible shield to protect the caster from any magical attacks and reflects back any physical attack them for a short period of time.
Sectumsempra
This spell is a curse created by Severus Snape. This curse slashes at the target and causes severe bleeding. Harry learned it through his copy of Advanced Potion Making, he used it on Draco Malfoy, almost killing him accidentally. Snape later uses this curse to cut off the ear of Fred Weasley.
Imperio
Imperio is the Imperius Curse, also known as the Mind Control Curse, and one of the Three Unforgivable Curses. This curse puts the victim under the users control and can only be broken by either having a strong will, if the caster decides to lift it, or if the victim dies.
Crucio
Crucio is the Cruciatus Curse, also known as the Torture Curse, and the second of the three Unforgivable Curses. This curse causes the victim to go under in an intense and excruciating pain and if subjected to this curse for a while it could cause the victim to go insane. Harry has used this on two occasions, the first was him trying to use it on Bellatrix after she killed Sirius however it didn't work properly as he didn't really mean it. However he does manage to use it successfully later on against one of Voldemort's Death Eaters.
Avada Kedavra
Avada Kedavra is the Killing Curse and the last of the Three Unforgivable Curses. This curse is pretty self explanatory, it instantly kills whoever it successfully hits. The only known survivor of this curse is in fact Harry Potter himself.
Apparition
Apparition is basically a wizards way of teleporting. This is seemed as a very advanced form of magic that if done wrong can cause disastrous consequences like a limb being left behind from someone's body.

Scaling
Percy Jackson
The Seven Demigods of Prophecy
Percy should scale to the other six demigods of the Prophecy of Seven as he is one of the main players in this prophecy and is shown to be comparable if not stronger than the other demigods. Percy has even fought against another main player and basically his Roman counterpart Jason Grace and they were shown to be comparable. And Nico di Angelo even says to the rest of the seven that Percy is the most powerful demigod he's ever met and no one, not even Jason disagrees with this notion.
- Jason Grace was able to summon a storm with frightening speed in order to trap Gaea in The Blood of Olympus (Mountain Level Low End to Island Level High End)
- Jason was able to summon a bolt of lightning and deflect it off his sword to attack Percy in their duel. (Mach 62 low end to Mach 81 high end)
- Hazel Levesque was able to sink an island by filling it with riches (Island Level)
Harry Potter
Dumbledore's Army

- Ron Weasley slammed a glass train compartment door, hard enough for it to shatter into pieces (Wall Level)
- The members of the DA were able to contend with multiple Death Eaters, who can destroy buildings (Building Level)
- Neville Longbottom killed Nagini with The Sword of Gryffindor
- Some other Death Eaters are capable of destroying city blocks (City Block Level)
Weaknesses
Percy Jackson
Despite his myriad of strengths and exceptional powers, Percy does have his weaknesses. An example of one of his weaknesses is that he doesn't tend to think through a full strategy often, but he isn't dumb, just very impulsive. Another one is that, as a demigod Percy can be hurt by both man made and mythological weapons like Luke's Backbiter sword which is one half steel sword and one half Celestial Bronze. This also extends to his sword Riptide as it can only hurt beings either mythological or magical in nature. His main weakness, however is his excessive loyalty, something that you'd think would normally be a strength is actually a weakness of Percy's. This is because Percy would risk the world to save his friends, something his enemies have used against him on several occasions.
Harry Potter
Despite his exceptional ability as a wizard, Harry does have his weaknesses. One being that without his wand Harry is pretty much helpless as even though wizards train to do non verbal and wandless magic, Harry struggles significantly with this. Harry's main weakness throughout the books seems to be that he has a bit of a hero complex and has a seriously strong desire to rescue people. This has been used against him by Voldemort before as since the two of them where connected Voldemort sent Harry a message of his godfather captured, only to learn that nothing had happened, but ironically this rash decision led to the death of Sirius.
My Verdict
In terms of stats in this debate, it's really no contest as Percy blows him out of the water (pun intended). As the best you could really argue for Harry is about Multi-City Block level and the lowest end for Percy is around City Level with multiple other feats and scaling that can get him into the Mountain or more consistently the Island Level with scaling to Hazel sinking an island.
Arsenal & Abilities
When it comes to their arsenal and abilities this should be a tie as neither of them really has an extensive arsenal and they both have a bunch of variety with their abilities as Harry can cast a myriad of spells and Percy can really do whatever he wants with water.
Skill & Experience
When it comes to experience this also isn't a contest as it's established in the epilogue of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, that Harry became an Auror after The Battle of Hogwarts and stayed as one for the 19 years since then. But when it comes to skill Percy should have that in the bag as Percy is capable of keeping up with and even surpassing the skill of people that have had far more training than him, especially in swordfights like Carter Kane who had been training for 3 years at the time, Luke Castellan who is said to be the most skilled swordsman that Camp Half-Blood had seen in 300 years, and most notably Jason Grace, who had been training at Camp Jupiter for 12 full years compared to Percy's 5 summers worth of training at Camp Half-Blood. So Harry gets 1 point for being far more experienced, and Percy gets 1 point for being far more skilled.
Conclusion
Percy Jackson
Advantages:
- Significantly stronger, faster and more durable than Harry
- Significantly more skilled than Harry
- Riptide's enchantment completely counters Harry's signature spell
- As Riptide is made of bronze, a metal, Percy could deflect any of Harry's spells with it
- Is more than likely resistant to magic, meaning there really isn't anything Harry could do
- Riptide is capable of harming magicians and since both magicians and wizards use magic, one good slice from Riptide would put Harry down
- Is significantly less experienced than Harry
- While Percy is more durable than Harry, without Percy's possible magic resistance, Harry's Sectumsepra spell ignores durability outright
- Also without his possible magic resistance, The Killing Curse, if it hits would instantly kill him
Harry Potter
Advantages:
- Significantly more experienced than Percy
- Sectumsempra creates slashes on the targets body meaning it ignores their durability
- The Killing Curse would instantly kill Percy if it hits
- Significantly weaker, slower, and less durable than Percy
- Significantly less skilled than Percy
- Expelliarmus gets completely countered by Riptide's enchantment
- Riptide could deflect any of Harry's spells as it's made of metal
- Riptide can harm magicians, and wizards are similar to magicians
- Percy's possible magic resistance means that there really isn't much Harry can do.
