"Everybody has talent, it's just a matter of moving around until you've discovered what it is."
-George Lucas
Izuku Midoriya, the boy born Quirkless who would then gain One For All Quirk and inspire hope in the world as the One For All Hero: Deku
Hajime Hinata, the boy born talentless who gained the talent of Ultimate Hope but plunge the world into despair as the Ultimate Hope: Izuru Kamukura.
Will Izuku defeat the ironically named Ultimate Hope and bring hope back to the world or will the Remnant of Despair plunge out the last remnant of hope in the world and make it fully succumb to despair. That's what I'm here to go over who I think would win in a potential DEATH BATTLE!
Before We Begin
For Deku I will mainly be using the manga for his feats, but the anime will be used as it oftentimes gives clarity to certain feats. And all of the My Hero movies will also be used as they are canon and have even been referenced in the manga. And I will be using the prime version of Deku who had One For All, and he will not be given his iron suit that he gains during the epilogue and ending of the series.
As for Izuru I will be obviously be using Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair and the Danganronpa 3 anime. But I will also be using the Danganronpa IF novel as though it is non-canon it was written by the series creator and gives more clarity on how certain techniques and talents are used. But I will not be using any feats or talents from Danganronpa V3 due to it being set in an alternate universe that has no ties to the Hope's Peak saga of the series. But Izuru's interactions with Class 77-B and 78-B from Danganronpa V3's Talent Development Plan are fair game as he holds all of those talents.
Also massive spoilers for both the entire Danganronpa series and the ending of My Hero Academia as the ending for the series hasn't been adapted into the anime just yet.
One more thing, some of you may have noticed that I've already done this blog, and you'd be right but looking back on it I'm not really happy with how that blog turned out as I left out certain things for both characters and gotten stuff just straight up wrong so I'll be deleting my original blog and this one will be replacing it.
Also before I begin I'll be linking sources that I took from in order to create this blog.
Background
Izuku
"I'm not gonna be your worthless punching bag Deku forever Kachaan. I'm the Deku who does his best!"
In a world where 80% of its population are born with some type of superpowers called Quirks, Izuku Midoriya would be one of the unlucky 20% born without one. But this didn't deter young Midoriya's wish as one day he would watch the debut of what would be his favorite hero, All Might and become inspired to be a hero just like him. Unfortunately for him when he came back from the doctor learning he was Quirkless, he asked his mom if he could still be a hero like All Might, all she could say was "I'm sorry Izuku." This would be a painful memory for Izuku but he would continue on with his dream. Though his confidence would take a few hits from his childhood friend Katsuki Bakugo who after getting his Quirk and learning Izuku was Quirkless would start to bully him and give him the nickname Deku an alternate reading of his name that meant "worthless" and "good for nothing."
But one of his last days of middle school he would actually meet his hero and idol All Might and ask him if he could still be a hero, but he would receive the same answer he got as a 4 year old. But shortly after this meeting he would see Bakugo getting attacked by a slime monster and without thinking about it, would immediately run to try and save him, which inspires All Might to defeat the monster and go to find the young man and tell him the words he wanted to here all his life, that he could in fact be a hero, and All Might had the means to make Izuku one. Enter the Quirk One For All, which has been passed down through generations and to its current holder All Might, who after 10 months of training Izuku's body to be able to hold the immense power of the Quirk All Might would pass the Quirk to Izuku.
After being given the Quirk and passing his entrance exam Izuku would end up in the prestigious U.A High where he would hone his abilities and meet new friends that would actually treat him well. One such friend was Ochako Ururaka who would help Izuku find a new hopeful outlook on his nickname of Deku, with her telling him that it gives her the feeling of him being the Deku who always does his best. With Izuku taking this to heart and even choosing Deku as his hero name due to the inspiring outlook Uraraka gave him on the name. During his time at U.A he would learn all the secrets of One For All and even unlock the Quirks of the previous users of One For All. Which definitely helped when he learned of the nemesis of all who held One For All before him, All For One and his protege Tomura Shigaraki who would end up being Deku's own nemesis. And during the war between heroes and villains Deku would stand up to Shigaraki who had just gained the All For One Quirk but during a brief encounter where Shigaraki tried to steal One For All from Deku, he briefly sees Shigaraki's soul where he sees a scared little kid and would desire to save him.
Due to this and the secret of One For All being exposed, Deku would go on a mostly solo mission to find All For One and Shigaraki and defeat them himself in order to protect his friends and loved ones. But his class at U.A would fight tooth and nail in order to bring Deku back to his senses and they succeeded with Deku returning to U.A and coming up with a plan for the final war for the future of the world. During this fight Deku would come face to face with Shigaraki and in order to save him and see the trauma of his soul, the Vestiges of the previous users of One For All said that he would have to forcibly transfer One For All to Shigaraki in order to pry open his soul and give it a direct beating. And with great difficulty Deku agrees to this and finally sees the crying child he wants to save and approached him. Almost succeeding in this until the vestiges of All For One and Shigaraki force Deku out of the vestige realm. And with no other choice left as the vestige of All For One took over the body of Shigaraki, he destroys All For One with one Final Smash, clearing the skies of the storms All For One created. And with one final sentence from Shigaraki who told him to make sure he does his damn best.
With that, hope would be inspired in the world and though Deku lost his Quirk, he decided to pass down his knowledge as the teacher of the Hero Course at U.A. And about 8 years later his classmates would finally be able to fund a new suit for Deku to be able to continue hero work while teaching, and he would jump up to being the Number 4 Hero. And though his number may not be 1, make no mistake, this was the story of how Deku became the greatest hero.
Izuru
Hajime Hinata wanted nothing more desperately than to be one of the few people born with an Ultimate Talent in order to attend the prestigious Hope's Peak Academy. Unfortunately for him, he was one of the many people who wore born as completely normal with no talents whatsoever. Due to this he would develop an inferiority complex, desiring so desperately to be an Ultimate in order to aspire to great things, but completely lacking the talent to do so. But due to his insane desire and admiration of Hope's Peak Academy, and the academy starting to accept students who were completely ordinary, Hajime was able to transfer and attend his dream school. Little did he know that his dream would soon become a nightmare to end all nightmares. While he got to go to Hope's Peak, it came at a cost as he was one of the reserve course students, a course of classes for students who are wholly lacking in talent. And forbidden from even entering the side of the main course. And on top of that, due to being a student of the reserve course Hajime's parents were required to spend an exorbitant sum of money for his tuition.
Although some of his time at Hope's Peak wasn't all bad as one day when he was wallowing in self pity the Ultimate Gamer, Chiaki Nanami would bump into him as she wasn't looking where she was going while playing on her legally distinct GameBoy Advance. And Hajime noticed the game she's playing which sparks up Chiaki as no one usually recognizes the games she plays. With the two of them becoming fast friends soon after this. They would normally meet up after every day of class at the fountain where they met in order to play games together and even just have casual conversations with each other. Though one day he would lament the lack of having a talent to Chiaki, who would say to him that having a talent doesn't matter as due to this he could take his life in any direction that he wanted to. While these words did affect Hajime, they seemingly affected him in the way that Chiaki didn't want him to take it. And this downward spiral would continue when one of his friends that he made on the reserve course would wind up dead and the incident would be swept under the rug. And one day Hajime found himself in a conversation with the former Headmaster of Hope's Peak who introduced a surgery that would give Hajime a talent. But at first Hajime refused this offer. But after trying to investigate the main course building he would get beat up by a former student of the school and told that talentless people were worthless in society. This would lead to Hajime going back and accepting the surgery to gain a talent.
But Hajime didn't know the full details of this project as during the procedure, all of his thoughts, personality traits and memories were forced into the recesses of his brain in order to make a being who specializes in talent itself. And when he woke up from this surgery he was Hajime Hinata no longer. He was now called Izuru Kamukura, The Ultimate Hope. But due to his sheer overwhelming number of his talents and the potency of certain ones he would grow bored of everything until one day he would be approached by the Despair Sisters, Junko Enoshima and Mukuro Ikusaba. Where they would attempt to kill Izuru, knowing full well that they stood no chance, where Izuru questions why they would attempt something where they know the outcome, and Junko responds that the emotion of Despair was the one thing she couldn't predict which intrigues Izuru. Izuru would later meet up with Junko and Mukuro to see the grandness of despair where Junko would force the members of the student council at Hope's Peak to kill each other. While Izuru was able to predict who the member who survived would be he wasn't able to predict that after he killed that man out of self-defense that they would somehow be able to shoot a gun after their head was chopped off by their chainsaw. Which surprised Izuru and gave him the idea that despair was unpredictable.
Though during one of Junko's plans to plunge the world into despair he runs into Chiaki but isn't able to recognize her due to the persona of Hajime no longer existing in him. And later he runs into Chiaki again, but sees her bleeding to death and as she dies and while seeing this sight he cries despite not retaining any memories of her. Which gives Izuru the idea that he could also not predict hope. So on the day that he and the despair sisters plunge the entire world into despair he comes up with an idea to see what will surprise him, hope or despair. He erases the students memories of him and his own memories of them, and around a year later he encounters Makoto Naegi and his idea finally comes into fruition. Where he and the students of Class 77-B are put into the Neo World Program in order to restore them to before they were the Remnants of Despair which resulted in Izuru going back to his Hajime persona. But due to Izuru's interference that didn't go as planned and a killing game took place. And during the end of this killing game Hajime has to face the truth that he was in fact Izuru Kamukura. But due to his determination to forge a new future he is able to accept this fact and escape the virtual reality.
And after escaping this reality, the personas of Hajime and Izuru fused together with the personality being Hajime's but also retaining all of the talents of Izuru. In this new state he would wake up his friends from their comas and go to the Future Foundation and fight off despair ridden soldiers. And once he and Class 77-B get to the main building of the Future Foundation, Hajime/Izuru confronts the Ultimate Animator to not brainwash the population into hope as that would take away their free will and instead help them gain their hope back. And in order to start that process back up Hajime/Izuru and the other former Remnants of Despair would pin the blame of all the worlds tragedies on themselves in order for people to have someone to blame. And after announcing these he and his friends would sail back to Jabberwock Island, satisfied with the fact that he was able to help the world he once plunged into despair, regain some of its hope.
Skill & Experience
Izuku
When it comes to skill and battle IQ, Deku is an exceptionally skilled combatant in this regard. He's also incredibly fast to learn and master things such as how he was able to master all of the Quirks within One For All within only a couple months of having them. And due to him constantly studying and taking notes of heroes and villains he has learned plenty of different techniques that he can use or knows how to counter. Like due to him growing up with Bakugo he was able to predict his movements in their fight. Or during his rematch with the villain Muscular he immediately noticed his movements weren't like usual and how he could defeat him within a single strike. There are more examples of his insane skill and combat prowess but we'd be here forever if I list them all, and I like to go outside so just know, this kid is extremely skilled. And when it comes to experience he's been doing hero work for just under a year but he's also been training at the most prestigious hero academia (say that again) in all of Japan for that time as well.
Izuru
While he lacks both skill and experience as Hajime, as Izuru he is by far the most skilled and experienced person in the entirety of Danganronpa. This is due to the fact that when he was reborn as Izuru he got every single Ultimate Talent that Hope's Peak Academy has ever studied. And on top of that he gained them with more ability than every user of those talents. Such as when he met Nagito and out lucked him. Or in the Talent Development plan of V3, he says his skill with Martial Arts is beyond superior to Sakura Ogami's. So because of this he is by far the most skilled person in all of Danganronpa.
Arsenal & Equipment
Izuku
Costume Zeta
The most recent iteration of Deku's hero costume. It comes equipped with Iron Soles to power up his kicks from his Shoot Style way of fighting. Air Force Gloves to dish out shockwave attacks and gauntlets on his arm to lower the strain on his arms that One For All gives out. He also wears the cape of one of All Might's mentors Gran Torino on his person as a scarf.
Iron Soles
These are a support item Izuku got that were built by Mei Hatsume. These soles helped out Izuku when he was using his Shoot Style of fighting to deliver powerful kicks, and the iron soles increase the power of them. And whenever Deku delivers a kick with them and they receive an impact with force the toes of the soles extend out to deliver a devastating double impact.
Air Force Gloves-Mid Gauntlet Hybrid
The Air Force Gloves were also developed by Hatsume to give Deku a ranged option in fights that won't damage his hands. And the Mid Gauntlets were support items most likely developed by Melissa Shields in order to lessen the blowback One For All gives his arms. But after both were damaged beyond repair in his fight with Lady Nagant, Deku went back to Hatsume who instead of fixing them, created a hybrid of both that have the same effects. Although the hybrid isn't as strong as they would be normally, it's still incredibly effective.
Izuru
Various Weapons
Although he normally doesn't prepare standard equipment, given how his Ultimate Talent works he should be able to use any and all equipment more effectively than any other Ultimate's. To start off we have the Sword of the Ultimate Swordswoman Peko Pekoyama. This is a wooden sword that has a hidden metal katana within its sheath. He also can use a sniper rifle in a similar way to the Ultimate Marksman and Archers. And on top of that due to possessing the Ultimate Soldier talent he can use any weapon that Mukuro Ikusaba has in an expert fashion.
Abilities
Izuku
One For All
The Quirk that Izuku received from his hero and idol All Might. While it seems like a normal strength enhancing Quirk, it's infact a combination of two Quirks. Those being the ability to stockpile power and the ability to pass on the Quirk from one person to the next and every time it gets passed on. While using One For All used to completely shatter his limbs he learned to use it at lower percentages to better use One For All without risk of self-harm. And on top of that Deku got one thing that no other previous user of One For All received, the ability to see and communicate with the other wielders Vestiges, and the ability to use their Quirks with them being stronger than they were initially.
Ultimate Moves
Being a shonen protagonist and a member of hero society, Deku can use One For All to dish out insane ultimate moves that he uses on his opponents. Some of them he stole from All Might and others he was able to create himself. He can also combine some Ultimate Moves to create combo moves that do even more damage.
- Detroit Smash: The signature technique of Deku, All Might and seemingly all other users of One For All user. Detroit Smash is a powerful punch that can deliver massive damage to both his opponents and the environment
- Detroit Smash Quintuple: A variant of Detroit Smash the Deku uses in conjunction with his Gearshift Quirk to deliver 5 Detroit Smashes in an instant.
- Delaware Smash: Izuku flicks his finger to produce a high velocity shockwave that can even destroy massive chunks of ice produced by Shoto Todoroki.
- Delaware Smash Air Force: A modification of Delaware Smash, where with his new Air Force Gloves he can deliver a Delaware Smash without risk to his body and can use all five of his fingers to deliver multiple attacks simultaneously.
- St Louis Smash: Deku gathers the energy of One For All into his legs and then delivers a powerful roundhouse kick that is powerful enough to produce shockwaves and send his enemies flying.
- Manchester Smash: Izuku channels the power of One For All in his legs and leaps into the air, then drops his leg down to deliver a devastating axe kick to his opponent that's strong enough to crater the ground even at just 20% of One For All's power
- Faux 100% Manchester Smash: In his Faux 100% form he delivers the same Axe kick but at massively higher speeds than before, which means it hits way harder.
- Texas Smash: Deku gathers the power of One For All and channels it into his fist, he delivers a punch that then creates a massive amount of wind pressure after the attack.
- Wyoming Smash: Deku channels a full 100% of One For All's power into his arms and then proceeds to hit his opponent with a spike from Super Smash Bros.
- 1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash: Deku uses One For All at 100% of his full power and then uses Delaware Smash with his full hand then uses his Detroit Smash to deliver a devastating blow that was able to knock Muscular unconscious after he had just tanked a 100% Detroit Smash.
- United States of World Smash: Deku's true Ultimate Move and the strongest in his arsenal. Izuku uses 100% of One For All's power to deliver a series of punches in quick succession, then runs around to gather momentum and deliver a kick at insane speed.
Gearshift
The Quirk of the 2nd wielder Kudo. Gearshift allows Izuku to dramatically increase or decrease the speed of anything that he physically touches. Which does include himself. He can even stop on a dime or freeze others in place, completely ignoring the law of inertia. Though this Quirk is incredibly powerful it does come with a severe drawback. After only 5 minutes of continued use his body will catch up to his speed, depriving him of oxygen and making him unable to move at all for a time.
Fa Jin
The Quirk of the second OFA user Bruce. Fa Jin stores and gathers kinetic energy from repeated movements that Deku does like squatting. And Deku can choose to release this energy immediately or keep it stored for later. When Izuku releases this kinetic energy he can move at insane speeds he otherwise wouldn't be capable of. Or enhancing the speed and power of his strikes. Though he can only used some energy that he stored at a time so he can only use this Quirk in short bursts.
Danger Sense
The Quirk of the 4th OFA user Hikage Shinomori. This Quirk warns Izuku of incoming threats and gives him a warning for where the attack is coming from and how fast it is. In which it allows Izuku to react accordingly to those threats kind of like Spider-Man's Spider Sense. Although it only works when the attacker has some sort of malicious intent and if someone is attacking out of some other emotion, Danger Sense won't trigger, even if that person is attacking with a dangerous weapon. And it has even born worked around by Izuku himself in his fight with Shigaraki.
Blackwhip
The Quirk of the fifth user Daigoro Banjo and the first other Quirk that Izuku awakened to. Blackwhip produces energy tendrils that come out of Deku's arms usually but can be used by other body parts. And Deku can use them in various different ways. Most notably swinging around in the sky using buildings like he was Spider-Man. He can also use it to grab and hold enemies and allies alike. They're also capable of traveling fast enough to cut of Shigaraki's fingers and they're sheer durability can even be used to act as a shield in order to protect Izuku. And should he ever be immobilized he could use Blackwhip to reinforce and puppeteer his body. I'll expand on that soon enough.
Smokescreen
The 6th OFA user's Quirk. This Quirk is pretty self-explanatory, Deku can create a smokescreen around him to obscure his position from his enemies. And he can use it at full blast to create a bigger smoke screen that completely covers multiple city blocks. Though if it's raining it won't spread very far and it can be easily dissipated by a shockwave of some sorts.
Float
The Quirk used by the 7th user Nana Shimura, who also happens to be All Mights mentor and Shigaraki's grandmother. This is also pretty self explanatory it allows Deku to float in the air and when using other Quirks like Fa Jin or his Air Force technique in conjunction with Float he can effectively fly.
Quirk Combinations
Izuku's ingenuity with One For All and its other hidden Quirks resulted in him creating some interesting uses for the Quirks, most notably how he's able to combine two Quirks to make a new technique. Like combining Blackwhip and Fa Jin to create the Black Chain or using Blackwhip Fa Jin and Air Force to propel himself when using Float which effectively made him fly. He can also use these combinations to make different forms, which I'll expand on soon enough.
Quirk Transferring Attacks
While the ability to transfer One For All from one generation to the next is usually meant to develop and train a successor. It can also be used forcibly in a way that can damage both his opponents body and soul. Deku can use the vestiges of the users of One For All and forcibly transfer them into his opponent where the vestige then self destructs in order for the opponent to not be able to use that Quirk. Though because of this it also means that Deku can no longer use that Quirk after its transfer. But it can also negate the side effects and drawbacks of certain Quirks, like Gearshifts recoil. Due note that this ability can only be used if his opponent somehow getting transmitted with Deku's DNA as that's how One For All is transferred. Although Izuku would only ever use this as a very last resort due to him viewing One For All as a most precious gift that received from his hero and idol.
Izuru
Ultimate Hope
The Ultimate Talent that Hajime Hinata received once he was reborn as Izuru Kamukura. This Talent gives him every single Ultimate Talent that had ever been studied at the time of his creation. Which gives him hundreds if not thousands of different Ultimate Talents that are even stronger in him than they were in their original holders. But for the sake of my sanity and having a life I'll only be going over the ones that I think would be useful in his fight against Izuku.
Ultimate Musician
While The Ultimate Musician Talent might not seem helpful to Izuru in this case there is something that actually would make it useful. That is the enhanced hearing that the other Ultimate Musician Ibuki Mioda posseses. She was able to pick out whose voice was whose and all of their locations in complete pitch darkness.
Ultimate Lucky Student
While it may seem innocuous at first don't underestimate the sheer power this talent possesses. The two other Ultimate Lucky Students Makoto Naegi and Nagito Komaeda have shown just how insanely lucky they are on numerous occasions. Most notably Nagito played a max difficulty game of Russian Roulette with 5 in the chamber and still won, won a drawing with a 1/16 chance and collapsed in an entire building just by throwing a baseball. He also caused an avalanche simply by kicking a pebble (2:53). And in Danganronpa IF, Makoto won the Escape Button item, which had a 0.00000001% of happening. And Izuru's luck itself was so strong that it temporarily negated Nagito's luck and caused his gun to jam despite working mere seconds beforehand. And when he stole the gun it worked perfectly fine again as he shot Nagito with no issue, with the latter only surviving due to his luck as he conveniently placed his student handbook in his breast pocket.
Ultimate Gymnast
The Talent of Akane Owari originally. This Talent while seemingly non threatning can be incredibly useful with the right user. And Akane used it expertly, with this Talent, she's incredibly flexible allowing her to do insane things with her body. She's also incredibly agile and can keep up in combat with another Ultimate whose trained his body to the peak of human physique. She also has enhanced senses such as smell, with her being able to detect certain scents like blood, people or food from afar and well before others. And on top of that she also possesses enhanced hearing, while not as string as the Ultimate Musicians hearing, she can still pick out sounds from afar which even extends to hearing insanely quiet sounds as well. All of this Izuru would possess as the man with every known Ultimate Talent and their abilities to a higher degree.
Ultimate Spy
The Ultimate Spy Talent is practically what it says on the can. The original Ultimate Spy Yuto Kamishiro had a severe lack of presence in public that he used to his advantage. And Izuru himself used this when he oversaw the Student Council killing game. Where the Student Council didn't notice him at all until he chose to reveal himself to the survivor, despite the fact that he was there the whole time.
Ultimate Soldier
The Talent originally used by Mukuro Ikusaba. (The 16 student called the Ultimate Despair, watch out for her.) Being the Ultimate Soldier, Mukuro and by extension Izuru was proffecient in every single type of weapon imaginable and had extraordinary strength. Her skill was so insane that she was recruited to the military group Fenrir where despite the fact that she had been in countless battles, she has never once been wounded.
Ultimate Martial Artist (and other fighting Talents)
The Ultimate Talent that belonged to Sakura Ogami. Sakura was both strong enough and skilled enough to become the strongest person in the world at just the age of 14. And she has fought in over 400 organized matches and has never lost a single one. With this skill comes an advanced martial arts technique called Shukuchi where she instantly moves to her opponents blind spot. She can even use this to travel from Japan to Prague like she did in Danganronpa Togami. And during the events of Danganronpa IF, she engaged Mukuro in battle and was actually winning, managing to give Mukuro her first ever wound and have Mukuro admit she couldn't beat Sakura in a battle of fisticuffs. And during the Talent Development plan of V3 Izuru flat out states that he is far superior to her in martial arts.
Ultimate Clairvoyant
The Ultimate Talent that originally belonged to Yasuhiro Hagakure. With this Talent he could see into the future and predict events 100% accurately... 20% of the time. But that 20% of that time is in fact 100% accurate and that's what got him scouted by Hopes Peak. And with how Izuru is far superior to Sakura in her insane martial arts prowess, he should definitely be far above the success rate of those predictions. Especially since he states that his predictions are always correct. Which leads us to his final and most useful Talent.
Ultimate Analyst
What's seemingly Izuru's main Talent and the one he shares with the series' main antagonist Junko Enoshima. This Talent allows both Junko and Izuru to analyze anything with superhuman speed and memorability. Allowing them to recreate super complex things by only seeing them once like how Junko recreated the technique for an animation or creating her own AI by seeing the code of a similar one, just once. This Talent also allows both Junko and Izuru to predict practically anything with near certainty, which lead to both of them thinking everything is boring. And that lead to Izuru's plot to see whether hope or despair could be the unpredictable and non boring thing he's been looking for. And the only things that Izuru has been shown not able to predict was the body of a student council member somehow being able to shot a gun despite being decapitated. And even then he still predicted which way the bullet was going to travel and moved mostly out of the way after the bullet was fired. And the tears coming from him after Chiaki's death but that was only due to the fact that Hajime was still in him, shown by the fact that both the personas fuse at the end of his journey.
Forms
Izuku
Full Cowl
The form that Deku learned how to use after training with Gran Torino. When he was first using OFA he was overexerting himself on specific limbs that would actually due more harm than good. And after seeing a Takoyaki being microwaved he realized that instead of using OFA on specific limbs, it's better to spread it evenly throughout his body. With this he has less risk of bodily harm and has a boost in speed and power. Although he could initially only use this from at 5% he eventually learned to use it at higher percentages culminating at 100%.
Faux 100%
In order to minimize the strain on his body, Izuku developed this form. While using Full Cowl at 45%, Deku releases the stored energy from Fa Jin to create a form that matches the speed and power of 100% of One For All without its recoil. Though due to the fact that he would have to store up the energy again after its release he can only use this form in short bursts before having to store up more energy.
Overdrive
The result of combining Gearshift, with his other Quirks mainly Full Cowling and Fa Jin's Faux 100% he basically becomes the most powerful being on the planet. It also gives him a massive speed boost to the point that Shigaraki couldn't keep track of him in this state. And because of just how powerful this state is he's even able to use One For All at 120% out of 100%., without even using 100% of OFA somehow. Although due to its reliance on Gearshift, he can only use this form a maximum of twice before he becomes unable to move entirely.
Overlay
A form that Izuku can use to move should he ever be immobilized through different ways. He achieves this by using Blackwhip to wrap himself in various tendrils all over his body and even under his skin to puppeteer his body in order to emulate movement.
Izuru
Hajime Hinata
The original form of himself. Hajime Hinata was incredibly ordinary. Although he doesn't have an Ultimate Talent he does have a moral compass and wouldn't due the things he does as Izuru if Hajime was in control. And he's also incredibly intelligent with him being able to solve every murder of Class 77-B's killing school trip. And solve the Killing School Trips very nature as a virtual program.
Izuru Kamukura
The form being used for this fight. After going through the surgery of the Hope Cultivation Program, Hajime was reborn into Izuru. A being whose specialty was talent itself. And with these Talents came a personality change as he came to view the world as boring and didn't see the value in life. Viewing humans as nothing more than pawns on a chessboard to see what he could and couldn't predict. Practically the fundamental opposite to everything he represented as Hajime Hinata.
Fusion
After going through the Killing School Trip and being forced to confront that he was Izuru Kamukura and accepting it he achieved this form. This form is a perfect harmony between the Hajime Hinata and Izuru Kamukura with his personality going back to that of Hajime's but being able to keep all of Izuru's Talents and skills. Represented by one of his eyes being the natural green of Hajime's and the other being the red of Izuru's. While he goes by both Hajime Hinata and Izuru Kamukura in these form, I like to call it Hajizuru Kaminata to combine both names, and cuz it's fun.

- I personally don't agree with the higher value that Death Battle itself used for this calc and moreso agree with the numbers G1 got for it for a reason I'll bring up with the very next feat.
- With the last embers of One For All he split the clouds with his Final Smash against Shigaraki (362 Gigatons or Large Island Level)
- While the feat was performed with the last embers of OFA the math I used to get it to what it would be like for 100% of OFA was a little over 3 Teratons, which is Small Country Level
Speed
- Could easily dodge bullets from goons using Full Cowl at 5%
- While fighting the villain Lady Nagant he outpaced her bullets using his Faux 100% form (Mach 5941 - Mach 6700)
- While fighting the villain Flect Turn using 20% Full Cowl, he could narrowly avoid his lasers
- Definitely superior to middle school student Jube Nazimaru who blocked a laser from close range. (25.98% SoL - 85.26% SoL)
- Should be superior to Americas top hero Stars and Stripes who could react to her own lasers being fired back at her. (0.613c)
- Should be superior to the High End Nomus who could dodge lasers from the Hero X-Less (0.73c)
- With Gearshift he can outpace Shigaraki who could catch Stars and Stripe's lasers. (0.613c - Speed of Light)
Durability
- Took a blow to the gonads from Kota
- Survived Lady Nagant's explosion while he was holding on to her.
- Survived a massive shockwave after having broken multiple bones. (46.98 tons)
- Is comparable to Shigaraki who survived Star and Stripe's "Fist Bump of the Earth (4.393 Gigatons or Island Level)
- Shigaraki also survived the Intercontinental Punch attack from Star and Stripe (7.912 Teratons or Small Country Level)
Izuru
Overall
- Once he joined Junko as Izuru he helped to plunge the entire world into despair
- Went completely unnoticed during the Student Council Killing Game
- Manage to out luck Nagito Komaeda
- Masterminded the Class 77 Killing School Trip as Izuru and as Hajime he solved it.
- Fused both his Hajime and Izuru personas to keep the positives without their drawbacks.
- After fusing his personas he helped the world that he once plunged into despair, regain some of its hope.
Power
- Pushed a member of the student council with enough force to shatter the windows behind them
- Is superior to the Ultimate Team Manager Nekomaru Nidai, who I kid you not, took a dump so hard and with enough force that he destroyed part of Hope's Peak and then it cratered the nearby forest. (78 Kilotons or Town Level)
- Is superior to the likes of the Ultimate Soldier Mukuro Ikusaba and even sent her flying with a casual backhand
- Mukuro was strong enough to ram through Monokuma units while she perceived bullets as frozen around her (170.87 Kilotons or Large Town Level)
- Is definitely superior to the normal Talentless girl Komaru Naegi and The Ultimate Writer Toko Fukawa who together defeat the Big Bang Momokuma, whose head upon defeat split apart a cloud. (298.5 Megatons or Mountain Level)
Speed
- Easily dodged Junko's attempts to hit him with a bat at high speed
- Casually reacted to a bullet after it was fired
- Is superior to the original Ultimate Martial Artist Sakura Ogami who kept up with Monokuma himself in a fight
- Using the Shukuchi technique from his Martial Arts Talent he could travel 500km in an instant
- The Original Ultimate Martial Artist Sakura Ogami even used this to travel from Japan to Prague in only a couple minutes (67% FTL)
- Is superior to the Talentless girl Komaru Naegi who could dodge a point blank EM wave (1.07c)
- Komaru could keep up with the mech of Nagisa Shingetsu which moves many times faster than those EM waves (4.4c)
- Showed no signs of pain after being grazed by a bullet
- Is superior to regular Monokuma units due to being superior to the students at Hope's Peak who could all fight against them
- Is superior to Junko Enoshima and even knocked her unconscious with a casual stomp without even leaving his bed.
- Junko could survive all of the previous executions used on the students of Class 78-B (0.54 tons - 2.15 tons)
- Is again superior to Mukuro Ikusaba and sent her flying with a casual backhand
- Mukuro was able to survive ramming through countless Monokuma units in Danganronpa IF (170.9 Kilotons or Large Town Level)
- Is superior to Nagito Komaeda and two other Hope's Peak students, who could all survive an explosion that destroyed a plane (413.4 Kilotons or Large Town Level)
- Is again superior to both Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa
- Both Toko and Komaru could survive getting hit with missiles that move at relativistic speeds. (104.4 Megatons or Mountain Level)
Fight Script
Surprise, I made another fight script. I hope that the fact I wrote this shows whoever reads this just how much I adore this matchup to the point where it's my second most wanted just after Joker VS Legionis. So if you would like to read my second ever fight script here it is.
My Verdict
Strength
To start off this category let's first look at Izuru's best feats and scaling. That mainly comes from being the top of the verse so he should scale to if not above any feats performed by anyone in Danganronpa. So looking at the best feats of strength and durability caps out at around 100 to around 300 Megatons or Monutain Level, which isn't bad. And though it's possible he scales higher than that, we can't say for sure due to lacking the calcs to prove it. But looking at Izuku's best feats he gets into the Gigaton range pretty consitently such as destroying Dark Might's fortress or his Final Smash cloud splitting. But note that the Final Smash feat was performed with only the last Embers of OFA and the fortress destroying was only at 45%. And when using 100% of OFA Deku can get to 2.86 teratons to 3.6 teratons. Which puts Deku at around 10,000 times stronger than Izuru, giving him the strength category with no issues.
Speed is a bit trickier, while looking just at their feats and scaling Izuru would be at least 4 times stronger due to Deku only having relativistic feats. Though where this gets tricky is with Izuku's Gearshift Quirk as it allows him to dramatically increase his speed to the point where he could even outpace Shigaraki. And if Izuku manages to touch Izuru he could even completely freeze him in place. However, I do not believe that would happen due to Gearshift only managing to outpace Shigaraki who is around light speed, where Izuru would still be 4 times faster. And on top of that Izuru's Shukuchi technique would allow him to avoid any attack thrown at him which includes his AoE attacks due to how it works on top of his already insane speed. And to add one more thing the Ultimate Gymnast agility and flexibility would also give him the means to avoid being physically touched by Deku. So while Gearshift seems like a problem at first I believe that Izuru has the means to avoid and and has the speed advantage on lock.
Abilities/Powers
And now for our final category, how the twos abilities and powers play off of each other and who has the better ones. In my original blog I gave this category to Izuku but after doing more research on the two I don't agree with my logic there anymore. So let's see just who has the more useful powers. Let's start off with both of their abilities to hide with Izuku's Smokescreen and Izuru's Ultimate Spy Talent. While both are incredibly useful ways to hide their presence from their enemies, I believe Izuru gets the edge here. This is mainly due to the fact that using his Ultimate Spy Talent he went completely unnoticed by 16 people while standing right in front of them. And while Izuku's smokescreen can cover city blocks, the enhanced hearing he gets from both the Ultimate Musician and Ultimate Gymnast. So 1 point Izuru.
Next let's look at their precognition with Deku's danger sense and Kamukura's predictions. While at first they would seem even due to allowing them to react to oncoming threats before they happen, I think Izuru would get the edge here as well due to Danger Sense being able to be worked around and the fact that if you're not acting out of malicious intent, the Quirk won't trigger. Compared to Izuru's predictions, where the only times he couldn't predict something was when a headless body shot a gun and Hajime's tears for Chiaki. Two things he couldn't reasonably predict at all. And while Izuru's fortune telling could help, Izuku was able to change his own fate before so it's possible he could do it again. So while both of their precog abilities are useful, both have been worked around before and both combatants are smart enough to try and exploit them so this one would get a tie.
Now for our final set of abilities, Izuku's raw power against Izuru's insane speed and luck. Now we know that Izuku holds a massive power advantage and Izuru holds a speed advantage so let's see which I think would win the day, which I believe would be Izuru due to not only his speed but his luck, as his luck could both protect him from any hits Deku throws his way. And Izuru's luck could even him kill Deku with one hit by conveniently collapsing his lungs or shattering his skull. Reminder his luck is stronger than both Makoto's and Nagito's with him directly out lucking Nagito in a battle of luck. And while Deku is way stronger with the ability to use AoE attacks, Izuru could avoid them with Shukuchi or with his insane luck. So I believe that Izuru takes this category and overall powers and abilities. Although I will give Deku this, as most of his abilities do directly help out in combat they can be more inherently useful in the right situations, while also being much more creative with his Quirks. And Izuku's Quirk Transferring attacks could harm Izuru's should and bring Hajime back, if he was fast enough to hit him, which he is not in my opinion.
Conclusion
Izuku
- Much more powerful than Izuru
- As all of his Quirks are combat oriented the can be more useful than Izuru's Talents
- Much more creative use of his Quirks
- Quirk Transferring Attacks could harm Izuru's soul and bring back Hajime
Equal:
- Similar skill
Disadvantages:
- Slower than Izuru even with Fa Jin and Gearshift
- Danger Sense isn't likely to trigger due to Izuru having no malicious intent
- Can be found in the Smokescreen due to Izuru's super hearing
- AoE attacks can be avoided due to Shukuchi technique
- Izuru's luck and analytical prowess would mean Deku wouldn't get the one lucky hit he needs
- Izuru's luck could also instantly result in Deku's death
Izuru
Advantages:
- Faster than Deku, even if Deku used Gearshift or Fa Jin
- Could potentially attack Deku without Danger Sense triggering as all of his actions are through boredom with no malicious intent
- Could pinpoint Izuku's position through his Smokescreen Quirk with his own super hearing
- Could avoid Izuku's AoE attacks with his Shukuchi technique
- Thanks to his luck, it's highly unlikely that Izuku would get in the one lucky hit that he needs to defeat Izuru.
- Also thanks to his luck, he could accidentally kill Deku with one hit
Equal:
- Similar skill
Disadvantages:
- Much, much weaker than Izuku
- Even though his Talents outnumber Izuku's Quirks, all of Izuku's Quirks are more directly useful in a fight.
- Less creative use of his Talents than Izuku's use of his Quirks
- His very soul could be damaged by Izuku's Quirk Transferring Attacks.
All in all this is a very fun matchup and one I love wholeheartedly. But if you've read this far I'm pretty sure you know who I think wins. And that is still Izuru Kamukura. I personally believe that the combination of Izuru's speed, predictions and luck would net him the win here for times than not. But if you disagree, that's fine too, just be respectful of my opinion. Anyway my opinion is that the winner is Izuru Kamukura.
